BIAM Continues to Strengthen Investment Team

    Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM) today Friday, July 13 2007, announced the following appointments.

    Pranay Gupta Laharia joins from Deutsche Bank in New York

    Pranay Gupta Laharia has been appointed Head of Technology and Telecommunications Research.

    Pranay joins BIAM from Deutsche Bank in New York where he was a research analyst specialising in the IT sector. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2003 he worked for Cambridge Technology Partners in Chicago and Washington DC, where he managed a 16 member team providing IT consulting services to NetJets, part of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway company.

    Pranay has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Technology Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

    David Furey joins from Butterfield Asset Management in Bermuda

    David Furey has been appointed Senior Portfolio Manager - Fixed Income.
    David is an experienced credit portfolio manager with over 12 years' experience in developing and implementing credit based, fixed income strategies across a range of client portfolios.

    David joins BIAM from Butterfield Asset Management in Bermuda where he has built a strong track record managing client portfolios for the last four years. Prior to this, David spent eight years as a fixed income portfolio manager with AIG Global Investment Group. David is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the UCD Smurfit School of Business.

    Commenting on these latest appointments to the BIAM investment team, Mick Sweeney, CEO, BIAM said: "We continue to grow and strengthen our investment team. Pranay and David will add additional specialist capability to our existing team of investment professionals."
