Bank of Ireland Asset Management today (13 June 2007) announced the appointment of Carl McAndrew as Managing Director of Bank of Ireland Asset Management (UK) Limited.
Carl has been Head of Business Development - BIAM (UK) for the past four years and during that time has made a significant contribution to the business. He has close to 20 years' experience in the investment business and prior to joining BIAM, worked for a number of international institutions including; Credit Suisse Asset where he was Vice President - Institutional Marketing and Nomura Asset Management where he also worked in a senior marketing role.
Commenting on today's announcement, Mick Sweeney, Chief Executive, BIAM said: We have had an established presence in the UK market for close to 20 years and are committed to developing long-term relationships that add value to clients. Carl's appointment ensures continuity both in terms of our strategy for the UK market and also in terms of our relationships with clients and the consultant community. As part of the newly created capital markets division within Bank of Ireland Group, we are also very optimistic about the prospects for broadening our product offering, particularly in areas like absolute return and alternative investments - where Carl's deep market knowledge will underpin our efforts.
Carl Mc Andrew replaces Olivier Santamaria who has been appointed Head of Institutional Relationship Management for BIAM's Irish customer business.
