Bank of Ireland Treasury and International hosts Kids-at-Work Day

The term, "vanilla products", took on a whole new meaning at Bank of Ireland
Treasury and International today (22nd August 2003) when 53 children of staff enjoyed ice cream and fizzy drink treats at the fifth annual 'Kids at Work' day.

After tucking into a child/parent 'power' breakfast, children watched their parents working with international markets during some in-house work-experience. Once the youngsters got to grips with international treasury risk management, it was time to tackle some real work, including balloon sculpting, computer games, art workshops, and a 'pop-star' party.

Commenting at the annual event, Mr Mick Sweeney, Chief Executive, Bank of
    Ireland Treasury and International said:

"We are delighted to welcome so many children here today. Kids at Work day has become an important calendar event in our office. It emphasises our commitment to a work-family balance. Aside from being a fun day, it affords children the opportunity to see what their parents do every day. It also allows parents to explain the different aspects of the workplace, including the challenges, the achievements and the camaraderie of the office environment."
