Group Code of Conduct

Bank of Ireland Group's success is built on the strength and integrity of our corporate character and it is essential that we meet the legal standards and ethical expectations of the communities and markets in which we operate. Our way of doing business with customers, suppliers, employees, Government and regulators must be marked by honesty and trust.

Our Group Code of Conduct sets out standards of behaviour and gives guidance for employees on how these standards should apply to all activities of the Group. All employees are required to follow both the spirit and the letter of this Code in their dealings with others, both internally and externally, and in their personal financial dealings.

The Code of Conduct is not, nor can it be, specific to each and every situation that you may encounter as an employee or director of a Group company. Notwithstanding this the intent is very clear and the steps that you should take if you have any concerns or conflicts are well articulated. I believe that this Code presents us with a guiding framework that is aligned with the needs of the Group.

Please take the time necessary to familiarise yourself with its content and to ensure that you understand how it relates to you and to your position within Bank of Ireland Group. If you require clarification on any aspect of this Code at any time, please do not hesitate to seek the guidance of your line manager or the compliance officer for your business.

    Group Chief Executive.
